If YES:
Go to the official ICE Detainee Locator:
https://locator.ice.gov/odls/#/search
You will need either:
- A-number (9-digit Alien Registration Number), OR
- Full name, country of birth, and date of birth
Once located, write down:
- Facility name
- Address
- A-number
Then continue to:

If NO:
Was the arrest very recent (within 12 hours)?
- If yes, wait several hours and check again.
- If no, call your local ICE field office:

You may also call the ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) field office listed for your region.
Step 2 — Has the person signed anything?
If YES and unsure what it was:
Do not assume the case is over.
Contact a licensed immigration attorney immediately.

If NO:
They may request to speak with an attorney before signing documents.
Step 3 — Is there a court date already?
Call the EOIR automated case line:

If a hearing is scheduled, write down:
- Date
- Time
- Court location

While legal review begins:
